A woman who struck an unmarked Louisiana State Police vehicle and fled the scene was arrested later in the day last week.
Patricia A. Williams, 39, of Ruston, was arrested by state police at her residence on Clinton Circle on June 2 after allegedly causing a crash on Reynolds Drive in Ruston and then fleeing the scene.
At about 10:30 a.m., Williams apparently failed to yield as she entered the roadway from a private drive and struck the unmarked Chevrolet Traverse driven by a state trooper.
According to state police, the owner of a Reynolds Drive business identified Williams. She was located at 12 p.m. on the front porch of her residence on Clinton Circle. A vehicle parked at the residence bore front fender damage matching the description given by the trooper driving the Traverse.
According to the arresting trooper’s report, Williams admitted she hit the vehicle. A records check showed no insurance on her vehicle and that her driver’s license was suspended.
Williams was traveling with an improperly restrained 2-year-old child at the time of the crash. She was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for hit and run, failure to yield, no insurance, driving under suspension, and a child restraint violation.
Bail set at $2,000.
