Vogue magazine spotlights Northwest Arkansas Pride

According to reports, Northwest Arkansas Pride was so amazing that Vogue magazine took note. Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that, according to the feature, more than 40,000 people attended the parade, which was the main event of the weekend-long festival. The procession filled a mile-long section of downtown Fayetteville with dancing, music, and brilliant color.

Writer Evian Keels interviewed several drag queens on their experiences at NWA Pride in addition to reporting the march.The demand for tickets to Glitterville, a drag show at George’s Majestic Lounge, was likened to a Dolly Parton concert by Taylor Madison Monroe, a 41-year-old performer from Fayetteville who Keels characterized as the oldest consistently performing drag queen in Arkansas.
