Thursday, July 3, the Temple Baptist Church community firework show will once again light up the night sky in Ruston with a stunning fireworks display. This public event, which is free of charge, will bring friends and family together to celebrate on the church’s campus at dusk.
Senior Pastor Reggie Bridges of Temple Baptist Church stressed the value of community unity over the Fourth of July.
“We can’t wait to spend the evening with our community,” Bridges added. We are particularly grateful to the churches and businesses that have helped sponsor the program. As fireworks light up the sky, we hope that Jesus be the light that chases the darkness away. As we work to improve our neighborhood and country, may we embody that light.
The annual Love Lincoln Freedom Fest held by the church kicked off the festivities earlier last week. This year, the event was moved to Howard Auditorium due to ongoing renovations. With a patriotic program full of songs honoring the country and commemorating local soldiers and women, the evening was nonetheless amazing despite the venue shift.
When 105-year-old World War II veteran Mr. Sam Mattox, one of Louisiana’s oldest surviving World War II soldiers, received recognition for his service, it was a poignant occasion. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson gave Mattox a U.S. flag during the event, and the governor gave him a proclamation of gratitude.
Bridges talked about the occasion and its goal of encouraging people to consider the blessings of freedom.
He remarked that it was an opportunity to pause and express gratitude to God for providing us with such freedom in our country. As we gave thanks to our warriors, who the Lord used to make that a reality, it was also an opportunity to celebrate those who deserve it.
Residents of Lincoln Parish may anticipate the fireworks display that will take place over the Fourth of July weekend, which is a representation of freedom and the those who have struggled to defend it.
Temple Baptist’s director of women’s ministries and children’s activities, Sarah Roach, expressed her enthusiasm for the occasion and its significance to her family.
Every year, my family’s favorite part of Temple is the Love Lincoln Fireworks. According to Roach, the firework display is amazing and should not be missed. Sitting on the back of a tailgate with dessert and friends and family is the only way to make it better.
To enjoy the celebrations, guests are invited to congregate on the Temple Baptist Church property or in the parking lot along South Service Road. The display will be a remarkable Independence Day celebration, with fireworks lighting up the sky over Lincoln Parish.
