announced Tuesday the signing of Abel Derksen, a transfer from the University of Washington.

Derksen, a native of Wassenaar, Netherlands, spent the 2024-25 season as a freshman in Seattle, competing in seven tournaments for the Huskies.

“I am thrilled to welcome Abel to our team for next year,” said Terry. “He’s a highly talented young man with an impressive resume and a promising future. In addition to his athletic ability, he’s also an outstanding student.”

He posted an adjusted scoring average of 74.8 over 21 rounds while carding two rounds under par. He finished second on the team at the Fighting Irish Classic, followed by a season-best 221 (five over) at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate.

Derksen’s best round of the season came in the final round at the Amer Ari in Hawai’i, making five birdies in route to a 69 (-3).

Prior to his first collegiate season, Derksen represented the Netherlands at the junior level, winning the Dutch National Match Play Championship while also finishing sixth in the Dutch Open.
