Louisiana Tech Tennis head coach

Amy Sargeant

announced Tuesday the signing of Diana Starodubtseva, a transfer from Hampton University.

Starodubtseva, a native of Kakhovka, Ukraine, has spent the last three seasons in Hampton, Virginia with the Pirates where she has totaled 78 combined victories in singles and doubles.

“I am thrilled to welcome Diana to the Tech Family!”, said Sargeant. “She brings a wealth of experience to our team, along with a dynamic playing style that combines variety and a high tennis IQ. We look forward to the impact she will make both on and off the court.”

Starodubtseva, who currently owns an 8.84 UTR rating in singles, is coming off her best collegiate season in 2024-25. She was named Second Team All-CAA after registering a 20-5 overall singles record.

In the fall, she captured the HBCU Flight B singles championship and then carried that momentum into the spring when she went 13-4 in duals while playing at the No. 1 position.

She also produced a 16-7 overall doubles record, claiming the HBCU Flight A doubles championship during the fall slate in route to being ranked No. 99 in the country in doubles, becoming the first Pirate in the NCAA DI era to be nationally ranked. She would go on to record a 10-6 mark in duals while playing at the top spot.

Starodubtseva helped Hampton to a 14-9 duals record as a sophomore in 2023-24, totaling 23 combined victories. She went 11-10 in dual singles while playing primarily at the No. 2 position and 12-8 in dual doubles, teaming up with current Bulldog

Mio Kozaki

at No. 1.

In her first season with the Pirates, she posted a combined 19-12 record between singles and doubles.
