It’s uncertain what the future holds for the resuscitation of North Little Rock’s renowned restaurant, Sir Loin’s Inn II, which went dark this week.
We contacted owner Stanley Conrad via email that afternoon to inquire about the accuracy of the information we had received from a source on Tuesday regarding the restaurant’s closure. We received no response.
The eatery informed its followers on Facebook on Wednesday afternoon that it will not be open today. We regret any inconvenience this has caused.
A similar statement, “We apologize that we will not be opening this week,” was posted on the Sir Loin’s Inn II Facebook site on Thursday. Next week, an update.
Restaurants frequently close for a variety of maintenance reasons, but the rumors are difficult to deny due to the ambiguity of the updates.

The restaurant’s waiter told the Arkansas Times on Friday that although employees got checks on Wednesday, they were unable to verify whether the establishment had closed permanently. The source, who asked to remain anonymous, claimed that items inside had undoubtedly been pulled down, relocated, and removed, and that some of the patio plants had disappeared along with the artwork on the walls that a local artist had lent to the restaurant.
After an optimistic beginning, the restaurant’s closure would be a sudden conclusion. The Central Arkansas community was thrilled to hear of the rebirth, and our social media coverage of the event received hundreds of shares and thousands of likes.
The parking lot across the street was packed in the evening when Sir Loin’s Inn II opened in December in the former Aydelotte’s location off JFK Boulevard, but we haven’t seen that kind of overflow parking very often in recent years.
Online reviews have been conflicting. Overall, we had a good experience at the restaurant.
The owners’ plans are currently unknown, but we’ll let you know as soon as we find out.
