Funeral services for Barry Glen Mobley, age 82 of Ruston, are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Dr. Chris Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Barry was born on June 4, 1943 and passed away on June 7, 2025. He lived a full and meaningful life devoted to family, hard work, and the simple things he loved. Barry had a deep love for the land and spent many years farming, a reflection of his strong work ethic and quiet connection to nature. He was also a talented craftsman, skilled in cabinetry and furniture making and repair. His hands shaped pieces that were both beautiful and useful, leaving a legacy in every home touched by his work. Barry also had a lifelong bond with his dogs, who were constant companions and always close by. He had a love for big band music, which brought him great joy throughout his life.
Barry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cynthia Boudreaux Mobley and their children: Danny and Emily Mobley, Shannon and Jeff Drury, Amos and Katie Bennett, Rhonda and Jerry Robertson, and Tammy and Lance Patterson. A proud grandfather, Barry cherished time spent with his grandchildren: Nathan and Sara Mobley, Pepper Mobley, Jacob Mobley, Robin and Dylan Austin, Hannah Drury, Jeff “Beau” Drury IV, Amber and Matt DeVaux, Alanna and Nathan Koffler, Calyn and Brian McGowan, Marissa and Jacob Hunter, Jared Meaux, Morgan and Miles Sehon, Andrew and Taylor Robertson, Chase and Mallory Patterson, and Garrett Patterson. He was also blessed with 15 great grandchildren, and an abundance of nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him joy and pride. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vernice Mobley; his brothers: Jerry Don Mobley and John Allen Mobley: and his sister, Betty Broughton.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons: Nathan Mobley, Chase Patterson, Garrett Patterson, Andrew Robertson, Jared Meaux and Beau Drury, IV. Honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Mobley.
Barry will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the legacy he built with both heart and hands. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
