Passenger claims drugs found in car

After drugs were discovered under his seat, a passenger in a car that had been stopped for an inoperative headlight was taken into custody.

When a Lincoln Parish deputy pulled over a car with just one headlight at around one in the morning on June 24, Terrence Cortez Rollins, 41, of Ruston, was taken into custody.

The deputy noticed a partly smoked marijuana cigarette on the center console of the car when he got close. The driver and Rollins were informed about their legal rights. According to both, the car had no other illegal items. Under Rollins’ seat, however, a search turned up a cigarette box with two bags of suspected marijuana and one bag of suspected MDMA (ecstasy).

Inside the glove compartment, a digital scale was found.

According to Rollins, the things in the cigarette box beneath his seat were his. After being taken into custody, he was charged with possession of marijuana, MDMA, and drug paraphernalia at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.

A law enforcement organization has made this material available to the public. Until proven guilty in a court of law, people named or depicted in photos or videos as suspects in a criminal investigation, or who are detained and accused of a crime, are deemed innocent.
