Pardoned and out of the pen, Jeremy Hutchinson launches a new chapter

For years, this publication has been subtly infatuated with Jeremy Hutchinson, the disarmingly likeable Republican lawmaker/felon who was always adorably aw-shucks about accepting bribes and misusing campaign cash.

Having only completed a little portion of his sentence, Hutchinson is now free after being granted a golden pardon by Donald Trump.

We sincerely hope that this descendant of the Hutchinson family political dynasty from Arkansas succeeds in his new role as director of strategic initiatives for a group named Unify US. According to an IRS filing, the organization is new and obtained nonprofit status in 2023. On its website, Unify US states that it is a public policy organization committed to developing, advocating, and implementing solutions grounded in historic American values, individual freedom, limited government, and free business. Maybe this is Hutchinson’s chance to fulfill the position of criminal justice reform advocate that his LinkedIn profile suggests he wants.

The Hutchinson family wasn’t always associated with Trumpworld, but it’s difficult to locate recent social media photos of Jeremy Hutchinson without his trademark red MAGA hat. Recall that following his antics on January 6, Jeremy Hutchinson’s uncle, former Governor Asa Hutchinson, who also campaigned for the Republican nomination in 2024, declared he would not support or vote for Trump.

Tim Hutchinson, Jeremy’s father and Asa’s brother, had different ideas and used lobbyists to try to convince Trump to clear Jeremy’s name.

Hutchinson, who was given a new beginning by a man who was never overcome by guilt or regret, seems to be doing the same. We’re eager to see how it turns out.

It’s dragon-slaying time!
