On Monday, August 11, 2025, Richard Raymond Rentz, 83, of Pleasant Grove, Arkansas, died at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. February 14, 1942, was Richard’s birthday.
After receiving his master’s degree in engineering, Richard spent many years working for NASA and ATK in Luka, Mississippi, as a plant engineer producing missiles. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, Richard, a veteran of the US Navy, defended his nation at the Bay of Pigs.
Richard attended Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church until his death and was baptized in the Episcopalian church when he was a small boy. After retirement, Richard loved working on the farm, playing with his dogs, fishing, boating, playing with his grandchildren, and playing on his computer. Richard’s devoted family and friends will miss him terribly.
Along with numerous extended family members and friends, Richard is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Brock) Rentz of the house; two sons, Jeff Lamb of Pleasant Grove, Arkansas, and Jeremy Rentz of Ohio; three daughters, Tamryn Rentz of Pleasant Grove, Arkansas, Emylee Rentz of Pleasant Grove, Arkansas, and Julie Sanders of Texas; grandchildren, Randall Lamb, Brennan Lamb, Stephanie Lamb, Sarah Lamb, Alyssa Lamb, Jeanna Lamb, Jessica Lamb, Ashley Sanders, Brianna Sanders, and Timothy Sanders; great-grandchildren, Dominick Lamb, Taven Lamb, Judy Gorman, Joe Gorman, Tyler Futtrell, Ayden Futtrell, Myles Lamb, Randy Lamb, Malakai Lamb, Randy Lamb, Randy Lamb, and Payton Cherry.
Richard’s parents, two sisters, and one son, Randy Lamb, all passed away before him.
Jeff Lamb, Josh Chope, Johnny Neel, Shawn Brock, Greg Forshee, and Alex Benson are the pallbearers.
