Obituary: Finis Dene Allen

At the age of 84, Finis Dene Allen of Oil Trough, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025. The son of William Luther Allen and Mary Bell Barber, he was born on September 20, 1940.

Mr. Allen was a member of the Oil Trough Church of Christ and a graduate of Oil Trough High School. Before retiring, he spent a number of years working in Victor Metal’s factory. In addition to being a volunteer firefighter for the City of Oil Trough, Mr. Allen was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

On November 30, 1963, Mr. Allen wed Miss Carole Waddill, the love of his life, and they started building a lovely life for themselves. Mr. Allen liked to hunt and fish. He took his dog, Levi, with him everywhere he went since he loved spending time with him.

Mr. Allen’s parents, three brothers, Johnny Allen, Jerrel Wayne Allen, and Billy Allen, as well as his wife, Carole Allen, all passed away before him.

In addition to his nieces and nephews, Johnny Trumna, Scott Allen, Teresa Allen Barnes, Sherry Fulton, and Janet Allen St. Romain, he is survived by his daughter, Laurie Sepulvador, and her husband, Mark, of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandkids, Chase Allen Supulvador and wife, Lauren, and Ashley Morgan Sepulvador.

Mr. Laddie Barber will preside over the funeral services for Mr. Allen, which will take place in the Church of Christ at Oil Trough on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Maple Springs Cemetery will serve as the last resting place. On Thursday night, friends are welcome to stop by Jackson’s Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Chase Sepulvador, Johnny Allen, and Scott Allen are honored to be pallbearers.
