On Thursday, August 21, 2025, Eula Mae Hodum, 94, of Batesville, Arkansas, died. The late L.V. Hodge and Marie Ewing Duncan welcomed her into the world on September 8, 1930, in Protem, Missouri.
Living in Spring Mill Holler, close to Batesville, Eula Mae enjoyed a life full of family, love, and faith. She was a Pentecostal who rejoiced in the small pleasures in life. She enjoyed spending time outside, feeding the birds, and cultivating flowers, especially her roses. Her kids and grandkids brought her the most happiness. She was famous for creating the best chocolate gravy and biscuits in the world, and she also loved hunting and fishing.
Her husband of 29 years, L.Z. Hodum, her father, L.V. Hodge, her mother, Marie Ewing Duncan, her stepfather, Roy Duncan, her two sons, Larry and Eddie Biggers, and her daughter, Dedria Hodum, all passed away before her.
Her daughter Brenda (Ron) Brady of Belize, Central America, her son Freddie (Diane) Hodum of Batesville, nine grandsons, seventeen great-grandchildren, and twenty-nine great-great-grandchildren survive her.
The wonderful memories that Eula Mae made with those who knew and loved her, her love of family, and her generosity and kindness will all live on in her memory.
