Batesville resident Elton John Keeney, 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Alton Keeney and Marjorie Chamberlain welcomed him into the world on May 20, 1960, in Batesville, Arkansas.
Elton liked being a father and was well known as an adventurous parent who enjoyed traveling, going to concerts, and riding his Harley motorcycle. He organized dirt bike competitions, worked as a tree grower, and loved to drive trucks so he could see all the sites.
His son, Kyler (Erica) Keeney, of Draco; his daughters, Kristina (Jacob) Praught of Batesville and Shara (Dustin) Davis of Searcy; his sisters, Mary (Mike) Hegarty of Conway; his grandchildren, Bentley Davis, Brooks Davis, and Lazarus Praught of Searcy; his children’s mother, Sherry Keeney of Batesville; his nieces; nephews; and his cherished pet, Ellie, are left to cherish his memory.
His parents, grandparents, twin brother Alton, siblings Carl, Mark, and Randy, as well as his two cherished canines, Bruiser and Bolt, all passed away before him.
On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., Jeff Jasso will conduct a memorial service in the Chapel of Doty Southside Funeral Service.
On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to the service time, there will be a visitation period.
