Early on Friday morning, July 25, 2025, David Joel Shirley, 87, died quietly in Bowden, Georgia.
Alph Shirley and Erma Mae Bearden had four children, including David, who was born in Batesville, Arkansas, on April 23, 1938.
In addition to his parents, David’s cherished wife, Ann Harrison Shirley, their daughter, Cindy Shirley Green, and all three of his siblings passed away before him. David’s daughter Kim White and her husband Randall, as well as his son Blaine Shirley and his wife Merridith, survive him.
In addition, he has twelve great-grandchildren and his grandchildren, Brandon Green (Felicia), Jennifer Felix, Melissa Innis (Stirling), Annie Shirley, Ben Shirley, Tracy Story, and Logan White.
On Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., the family will be visited by visitors at McKoon Funeral Home, located at 38 Jackson Street in Newnan.
On Wednesday, July 30th, David will travel back to Arkansas and be buried beside his parents. The funeral ceremony will be conducted by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville, Arkansas.
