Obituary: Betty Jean Crutcher

Rosie resident Betty Jean Crutcher, 92, died in Batesville on August 18, 2025. J.M. Hooper and Pixie (Tucker) Hooper welcomed her into the world on December 28, 1932, at Rosie. She was a member of the Rosie Baptist Church and a former Independence County Circuit Clerk.

She loved going to church, playing bingo (she was affectionately called Bingo Betty), feeding hummingbirds and grandchildren, and cooking for the family. Betty always had a generous heart and adored the Senior Citizens Center at Oil Trough.

Her parents, husband Edward Crutcher, two brothers, JD and LJ Joe Hooper, sister Dorris Martin, and daughter-in-law Jamie Crutcher all passed away before her.

Two grandchildren, Kylie Crutcher and Drew Fleming (Ashley); two great-grandchildren, Ella Howell and Hayden Howell; son, Keith Crutcher; daughter, Martha Fleming, are among the survivors.

The Rosie Baptist Church will have funeral services on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

The next step will be burial at Maple Springs Cemetery.

Qualls Funeral Homes made the arrangements.

Visitation will take place at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
