Ruston Police arrested a Quitman man after he was stopped for an equipment violation and methamphetamine was found in his vehicle.
Tyler Marsh, 33, was arrested on May 21 for possession of methamphetamine and resisting an officer.
Marsh was stopped because his vehicle had only one operational headlight. According to an officer’s report, Marsh appeared extremely nervous and exhibited signs of drug use.
The officer called for a drug dog to respond to the location. While waiting for the K-9, Marsh asked to return to his vehicle, but they officer denied the request for safety reasons. Marsh again attempted to walk back to his vehicle and was warned he would be arrested if he tried to enter the vehicle.
Once Morris again tried to go back to his vehicle. He was stopped and restrained. Marsh admitted that there was methamphetamine in his vehicle.
A search located a glass smoking pipe containing a noticeable amount of suspected methamphetamine prepared to smoke, according to the officer’s report.
Marsh was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
