Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop F started looking into a deadly single-vehicle collision on Plum Grove Road, just north of Bayou Macon Cemetery Road, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, soon after 10:00 a.m. Carl Carr, 75, of Epps was killed in the collision.

According to the preliminary inquiry, Carr was traveling south on Plum Grove Road in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The Chevrolet veered off the left side of the road and collided with a tree for unidentified reasons.

Unrestrained, Carr suffered severe injuries. After being taken to a nearby hospital, he passed away. Samples for routine toxicology were gathered and will be sent for examination. Investigations into this crash are still ongoing.

According to statistics, wearing a seat belt correctly can significantly lower your risk of suffering serious injuries or losing your life in an accident, even if not all collisions are preventable. According to Louisiana law, all passengers must always stay strapped up, regardless of where they are seated. One of the best strategies to prevent injuries and save your life in collisions is to wear your seat belt correctly.
