Man arrested for harassing girlfriend

A Ruston man was arrested for creating a disturbance after refusing to comply with a warning by police to cease verbal abuse of his girlfriend.

Bryce Nichols Rogers, 26, was arrested May 24 for disturbing the peace by appearing intoxicated in public outside a West Barnett Springs Avenue residence.

Ruston Police were called to a domestic disturbance where Rogers said he and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument. Officers detected an overwhelming odor of alcoholic beverages coming from Rogers. After completion of the investigation, Rogers was escorted to his residence next door and instructed to refrain from contacting the girlfriend by any means for 24 hours.

Less than 15 minutes later, officers were called to return to the location. Rogers was allegedly in his vehicle, honking the horn, yelling towards the woman’s house, and calling her by phone. He was arrested and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
