On Friday, June 27th, the LA Tech Intramural Center will host the eighth annual Holiday Basketball Camp, organized by the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana. We now have Boys & Girls Clubs in the following areas in our north central region: Arcadia, Dubach, Farmerville, Jonesboro, and Ruston. All sponsorships may be allocated to these sites.
200 campers from all over north Louisiana have already signed up for this free basketball camp, which offers them the chance to improve their basketball skills, meet NBA Champion Justin Holiday, and get a camp shirt and lunch from The Springs Church, which is served by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff Department. Justin talks about his life journey, his deep love for family, his faith, and his time spent as a Club kid at the Boys & Girls Club of North Louisiana in Ruston.

From 1995 to 1999, Justin Holiday lived in Ruston, Louisiana. In 1999, Justin and his family relocated back to California, where he and his brother Jrue were members of the Pasadena Boys & Girls Club. Justin married Shekinah Seigmund, a former Rustonite and Ruston BGC child, and he and his family kept up close relations with many Ruston families.
Justin pursued his career abroad, playing basketball for a professional team in Belgium after attending the University of Washington. Holiday played with the Philadelphia 76ers in the beginning of his NBA career before joining the Golden State Warriors to win the 2015 NBA Championship.
The Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Memphis Grizzlies, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks, and Denver Nuggets were among the NBA teams that Holiday played for between 2015 and 2024.
In 2020, during the annual Boys & Girls Clubs of America Area Council Leadership Conference, Justin was presented with the Louisiana Area Council CARE (Children Are the Reason for Excellence) Award. He still gives our local Clubs in North Louisiana excellent assistance.
