Little Rock’s Loca Luna temporarily closing for ‘exciting upgrades’

Published On:

According to the people behind the restaurant, Loca Luna, a nearly 30-year-old bistro located at 3519 Old Cantrell Road in Little Rock’s Riverdale district, will be temporarily closing starting Monday, September 8, in order to undergo some exciting enhancements.

We will be updating the menus and renovating the entire restaurant, according to a news statement from the Remolinos Group.

In addition, the group is designing a brand-new bar concept for the restaurant, which the press release describes as having a distinct style and ambiance that we are excited to present.

Legendary chef and Loca Luna creator Mark Abernathy announced in August of last year that he was retiring and selling both Loca Luna and its sister restaurant, Red Door, to the Remolinos Group, which owns Sterling Market and Fidel & Co. Red Door temporarily closed on April 1st in order to undertake a significant refurbishment project. Early in 2026, Red Door is anticipated to reopen.

According to the statement, Loca Luna is expected to reopen in late November.

Our aim is to provide warm environments centered around delectable, well-considered food. According to Fidel Samour, president of Remolinos Group, these improvements will make that experience even better by making it more cozy, welcoming, and full of additional opportunities to enjoy delicious food and companionship.

Additional details from the press release are as follows:

Just in time for the holidays, Loca Luna will return at the end of November! Thus, reserve your catering and gatherings with us right now! With major menu changes, renovated spaces, and the debut of our brand-new bar experience, we’ll be prepared to celebrate with you.

While we’re closed, we encourage you to stop by Sterling Market, our sister restaurant, which is situated at 515 Shall Ave. in Little Rock’s East Village. There, you’ll discover the same vibe of delicious food, friendly faces, and warm hospitality.

We look forward to seeing you again and sharing a glass with you soon.

With appreciation,

The Team Loca Luna
