In a coordinated operation to target outstanding warrants and combat drug and violent crime activity, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team and other agencies to conduct a warrant roundup on May 21-22.
This multi-agency effort resulted in 78 arrests and the seizure of substantial quantities of illegal narcotics, firearms, and stolen property.
“This is a culmination of months of work by the men & women of METRO Narcotics Unit, but this does not stop here,” said Ouachita Parish Sheriff Marc Mashaw. “Now we call on our criminal justice partners to take it from here and hold these criminals accountable for their actions.”
Other agencies participating in the operation were METRO Narcotics, Monroe Police, West Monroe Police, Louisiana State Police, Louisiana State Probation & Parole, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Louisiana National Guard Counterdrug Air Wing, and District Attorney Steve Tew of the 4th Judicial District.
The roundup included the seizure of 28 firearms including three that had been reported stolen. Also seized:
o Methamphetamine: 114 grams
o Marijuana: 991 grams
o Fentanyl: 35 grams (approx. 17,500 dosage units)
o PCP: 4 ounces
o Crack Cocaine: 44 grams
o Cocaine: 26 grams
o Ecstasy: 463 dosage units
o Xanax: 1,920 dosage units
o Adderall: 40 dosage units
o Suboxone: 57 dosage units
o Klonopin: 18 dosage units
o Methadone: 160 mL
o Steroids: 1 mL
o Vehicles Seized: 2
