Independence County launches emergency alert system with FireTEXT

The FireTEXT Community Alert System, a new emergency messaging platform intended to notify citizens during critical crises and community emergencies, was launched Thursday, Independence County officials stated.

By giving county citizens immediate access to critical information, the system seeks to improve public safety and readiness.

County officials will be able to provide real-time updates on a range of situations, such as severe weather alerts, evacuations, and significant community announcements, through the FireTEXT Community Alert System.

Members will automatically receive weather alerts through the FireTEXT app.

With the words, “Public safety is our top priority, and effective communication during emergencies can literally save lives,” County Judge Kevin Jeffery emphasized the significance of the new system. We can provide vital information to our residents promptly thanks to the FireTEXT system. The time and money spent on informing our citizens is worthwhile.

Instant email notification delivery, zone-specific targeting to distribute messages to specific sections of the county, and round-the-clock emergency notification availability are some of the main characteristics of Independence County’s new alert system. Additionally, the system gives homeowners the option to select their preferred notification ways and offers a simple enrollment process at firetext411.us.

First responders established FireTEXT Dispatch Solutions in 2006, which runs the FireTEXT Community Alert System. The company has a 99% system uptime record and serves departments all around the country.

Owner and chief operating officer of FireTEXT John Cook was excited about the collaboration, saying, “We are honored to work with Independence County to improve their emergency communication infrastructure.” Since our platform was created by firefighters for first responders, we are aware of how crucial dependable communication is in an emergency.

Residents can register at firetext411.us to receive Independence County Community Alerts. Residents are also urged to download the FireTEXT app in order to receive notifications. Residents are not charged for the service.

The FireTEXT Community Alert System, according to county officials, is the most recent development in Independence County’s continuous disaster preparedness efforts, highlighting the county’s commitment to safeguarding and educating its citizens in any situation.
