According to the Arkansas State Police, five inmates killed a guy who passed away shortly after being admitted to the Monroe County Detention Center earlier this month.
Just after noon on August 8, Terry Craig, 44, was arrested for possessing child sex abuse materials and possessing a handgun while a convicted felon. Inmates Gregory Otis, Typaris Johnson, Antonio Aldridge, and Reko Branscomband, according to state policeCraig was injured after being attacked by Carmello Hawkins in his cell, where he was subsequently found by jail staff.
Around ten o’clock at night, Craig was taken to the Baptist Health Medical Center in Stuttgart, where he was declared deceased. To ascertain the precise cause of death, his body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab.
Charges of first-degree murder, first-degree battery, and participating in a violent group activity have been brought against all of the prisoners who allegedly attacked Craig. The bond for each suspect was set at $3 million.The Monroe County Sheriff’s website states that Johnson is the sole person still in custody. On August 19, all five accused are expected to appear in court for their arraignment and plea to the new accusations.
