Fight leads to man’s arrest

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department charged a Gibsland man following a fight at a U.S. 80 residence.

Christopher Arnold Thompson, 53, was arrested for simple battery and a failure to appear warrant after the investigation of a fight on May 27.

A man told deputies he had gone to a third party’s residence to talk to a friend and found Thompson was there. An argument ensued over each accusing the other of theft. The man said a fist fight and occurred where Thompsn grabbed a pipe and hit him in the head.

Deputies saw that the man had a deep gash on the left side of his head.

Thompson told deputies a similar story, but adamantly denied using anything but his fists. He said while they fought, they tripped over each other and the other man fell into a truck and hit his head.

A records check showed Thompson was wanted by the Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a traffic charge. He was arrested for simple battery and the warrant and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
