A Ruston man was arrested by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department after he was pulled over for speeding and several drugs were discovered in his car.
On June 24, Erolos M. Jackson, 59, was stopped on U.S. 80 close to Gahagan Road after being detected on radar moving at 65 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Upon approaching Jackson, the deputy noticed a potent green marijuana smell emanating from the car.
A second search turned up a lunch pail in the front center console with digital scales, a box of plastic sandwich bags, a pill bottle carrying MDMA (ecstasy), a pill bottle containing Viagra, two smaller bags of marijuana, and a huge bag of marijuana.
In addition to 46 units of Viagra and 51 MDMA tablets, about 104 grams of marijuana were found. One legendary medication that needs a prescription is Viagra.
According to Jackson, the bag and everything within it were his. He claimed that a buddy had given him the ecstasy polls to treat leg pain, but he was unsure of their identification. The bottle containing the Viagra was marked for another prescription drug.
At the Lincoln Parish Detention Center, Jackson was taken into custody and charged with speeding, possession of a legend drug, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of MDMA with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
