Cedar Creek School saw a total of five representatives on the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class A all-state softball and baseball teams.
Four Lady Cougars earned honorable mention all-state honors on the softball team while one Cougar landed on the first team all-state baseball squad, released on Friday.
Sophomore Kade Luker earned a spot on the 17-member baseball team as a utility following a solid performance for the Cougars on the mound and at the plate this year. Luker led Creek on the mound with a 2.65 earned run average, including 83 strikeouts. At the plate, he hit .349 with 22 stolen bases.
Covenant Christian’s Owen Trosclair was named the Outstanding Player while Vermilion Catholic’s Ben Harringston was Coach of the Year.
Presley Wall, Mallory Smith, Anna Claire Fitzgerald and Hydi Boyd all earned honorable mention all-state honors after leading the Lady Cougars to 21 victories and the Select School Division IV playoffs.
Wall, who was the District 1-1A MVP this season, hit .505 with 18 RBI while Boyd batted .444 with 34 RBI. Smith hit at a .382 clip this season while recording 34 RBI and Fitzgerald batted .400 with 40 RBI.
Opelousas Catholic’s Ashley Little was named the Outstanding Player while LaSalle’s Derek White was Coach of the Year.
