A big move is being taken by Cave City to revitalize its historic downtown.
The designation comes after months of work by the volunteer application steering committee, whose members developed a visionary plan for the community’s future, and an in-person application presentation earlier this summer by Mayor Jonas Anderson and Executive Director Brandi Schulz of the Cave City Area Chamber of Commerce, according to a release from the Chamber. The Main Street section and the project have been called “The Heart of Cave City.”
According to Anderson, this collaboration will provide professional direction, instruction, and fresh chances to create a more robust and dynamic Cave City.
Cave City’s inclusion in the program, according to the chamber, is in line with continuing initiatives to enhance public areas, improve infrastructure, and increase commercial prospects. It is anticipated that the classification will improve grant eligibility, draw in private investment, and fortify ties between the local administration, the business community, and citizens.
According to Schulz, this was a real team effort. The members of our steering committee are dedicated to Cave City because they see its potential. We are now prepared to realize that promise with Main Street Arkansas as a partner.
