Ona V. (Finster) Vickers, 99, died in Batesville, Arkansas, on August 4, 2025, in the company of her loved ones. Gladis (Kimbrough) Finster and the late Clay Finster welcomed her into the world on February 6, 1926, in Batesville, Arkansas. Ona maintained a spotless home and was an excellent cook. When she was younger, she liked to cross-stitch, shop, and go fishing. As a babysitter, Ona forced the children to follow the rules. She also enjoyed making fun of the people she cared about. She particularly relished Louis, her great-grandson, visiting. Red was her favorite color. Ona worshipped the Lord beyond all else and went to the Cushman Assembly of God.
Her daughter Betsy McMahan (Steve), her grandchildren Tracy McMahan (Angela), Stacy McMahan Tebbetts (Greg), Mike Vickers (Elke), Chris Vickers (Clay), and Ben Birkhead (Brandi), her great-grandchildren Louis Tebbetts, Kayle Wilkins Hawk (Hunter), Parker McMahan, Ethan McMahan, Jacob Birkhead, Reese Birkhead, Tyler Vickers (Vanessa), Luke Vickers, Megan Prichard (Jordan), and Tanner Vickers, as well as her great-great grandchildren Robert William Vickers, Margaret Jean Vickers, Neo Paul Pritchard, and Sibisiso Pritchard, and Panzie Barber, survive her. Her parents, husband Floyd Vickers, daughter Sue Birkhead, son Bill Vickers, brothers Howard and Buddy Finster, twin sister Mona V. Greenfield, and sister Bobbie Reynolds all passed away before her.
Willis Funeral Service Chapel will have a visitation on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m. At 2:00 PM, Brother Carl Blankenship will preside over the funeral ceremony. Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman, Arkansas, will be the final resting place. Louis Tebbetts, Parker McMahan, Ethan McMahan, Ben Birkhead, Chris Vickers, Mike Vickers, and Greg Tebbetts are honored to be pallbearers. Steve McMahan, Toby Finster, Jacob Birkhead, Ricky Reynolds, Sammy Reynolds, Tyler Vickers, and Luke Vickers are honorary pallbearers.
Her many friends on Aspen and Magnolia Halls, as well as the staff and all employees of Woodlawn Nursing Home, deserve a particular thank you from the family. You were all loved by Ona. She constantly teased to display it.
