Honoring a Life of Learning, Contribution, Family, and Faith
We mourn the loss of our cherished family member, an outstanding aerospace engineer and devout Christian, who passed away at the age of 87. He left behind a unique legacy of faith, intellectual curiosity, and unflinching integrity as he passed away peacefully in the company of his loved ones.
A Love of Aircraft Communication
His life was influenced from an early age by his curiosity with designing and solving issues using scientific and mathematical ideas. He spent decades developing satellite communication after receiving his degree in aerospace engineering. He worked on ground-breaking initiatives during his illustrious career, ever aiming for innovation and perfection.
Committed to Family and Religion
He uplifted all around him with a gentle attitude and sensitive heart, grounded in his strong Christian faith and approaching life with humility, kindness, and generosity. His faith gave him strength in both happy and sad moments, and it guided every step he took.
A Tradition of Love and Education
In addition to his career accomplishments, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved to tell tales of history, music, photography, athletics, and the mysteries of the cosmos. Whether it was launching model rockets, building catapults, making gingerbread castles, playing games, or cheering on athletes and beauty queens, he loved family get-togethers and was always excited to spend time with his grandchildren.
He was interested in everyone and loved people. He encouraged everyone to have high dreams and to be nice, devoted, and loving.
A Multi-Interesting Man
Pat was passionate about people and life. With enthusiasm and tenacity, he explored his wide range of interests. Pat enjoyed learning, traveling, taking pictures, creating art, watching plays, listening to Blue Grass music, hiking, scuba diving, and exploring westward routes, to name a few. He enjoyed taking trips for work, pleasure, and to help Mary Ann with her work. He was interested in and loved everyone.
Honoring a Life Well Spent
In addition to his scientific achievements, he left behind a legacy of honesty, loyalty, and love. Everyone who knew him will miss him terribly, but his gentle presence, humor, and knowledge will endure in the lives he touched.
On Thursday, August 14, at 2:00 pm, First Baptist Church in Batesville, Arkansas, will host a memorial service to honor his life and legacy. At 1:00 pm, there will be a visitation before the service. A family and friend get-together will take place in the Fellowship Hall next to the church after the service. Everyone is welcome.
The family respectfully asks that donations be made to a charity of your choosing or to groups that support Christian outreach, such food banks and First Baptist Church, in place of flowers.
