Obituary: Geneva Louise (Parrish) Whitlatch

On Monday, August 11, 2025, Geneva Louise (Parrish) Whitlatch, 89, of Harrisburg, Arkansas, passed away at Woodbriar Nursing Home.

Geneva, daughter of Jim and Viola Merilee (Orph) Parrish, was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas, on September 3, 1935.

Her parents, husband Charles Chuck Whitlatch, brother Bud Parrish, and infant sister all passed away before her.

Geneva spent a number of years employed at American Greetings and Johansen Shoe Manufacturing Company in Harrisburg. She attends Harrisburg’s Calvary Baptist Church. Geneva belonged to both the American Legion and the Red Hat Club. She loved solving puzzles, playing card games, bingo, fishing, and hanging out with her loved ones.

Three grandchildren—Jennifer (Brian) Karnes of Cherry Valley, Jack (Lily) Stephens of Jonesboro, and John (Wendy) Stephens of Cherry Valley, Arkansas—eleven great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, and special friends Mary Easter and Dale Easter survive her. Her daughter is Paula (David) Riddle of Wynne, Arkansas.

Jackson’s Funeral Home in Harrisburg will be open for visits Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The service will be led by Bro. Kirk Owens.

The following guys will be Active Pallbearers: Jason Vangilder, Blake Tibbs, Deacon Karnes, Gavin Stephens, Gage Harland, and Michael Stephens. The employees of Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg, Arkansas, will serve as honorary pallbearers. Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery will serve as the last resting place.

Jackson’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
