County property reappraisal finished; appeal deadline set for Aug. 18

Published On:

Before switching to a statewide four-year reappraisal schedule, the Independence County Assessor’s Office has finished its five-year property reappraisal cycle.

It’s possible that citizens of Independence County were notified when the value of their properties changed.

Residents can ask the county’s Board of Equalization for a hearing if they think their assessed values are incorrect. Before the deadline of August 18, 2025, call the Independence County Clerk’s Office at 870-793-8828 to make an appointment.
