Obituary: Arnold Dean Lincoln

On August 8, 2025, Arnold Dean Lincoln, 87, of Mountain View, Arkansas, departed to be with his Lord. He was born to Joe Elmer and Beulah V. (Dortch) Lincoln in Sheridan, Arkansas, on April 14, 1938.

The majority of Arnold’s life was spent in Sheridan, Arkansas. In 2003, he moved to Mountain View after retiring from the Arkansas Department of Health in Little Rock. Arnold was an extroverted and gregarious man who had many of friends and never met a stranger. After completing Sheridan High School in 1956, he proudly spent nine years in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Arnold was a devoted follower of Mountain View’s White Water Missionary Baptist Church. Before that, he spent 40 years as a dedicated member of Sheridan’s Marlow Missionary Baptist Church, where he taught the men’s Sunday School class. Playing his guitar, solving word search puzzles, and reading his Bible were some of his favorite activities.

His son, E. Abe Lincoln, of Mountain View, Arkansas, and his wife of 65 years, Polly Mae (Phillips) Lincoln, survive him.

His parents, Joe Elmer and Beulah V. (Dortch) Lincoln, passed away before him.

Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., there will be a visitation at the Mountain View Funeral Service Chapel. At 2:00 p.m., Brother Phil Sutton will preside over a funeral ceremony. Brother Bob Oden will preside over the burial, which is scheduled for Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Orion Cemetery in Redfield, Arkansas.

Mountain View Funeral Service is in charge of making the arrangements.
