On July 29, 2025, John Glenn Prince, 69, of Augusta, Arkansas, died in Batesville, Arkansas. The late Gene Edward and Francis Lee Prince welcomed him into the world on September 26, 1955, at Sulfur Springs, Texas.
In 1973, John received his degree from the University of Arkansas after graduating from Augusta High School. Before attending law enforcement training, he enlisted in the Army. He later joined his sister and brother-in-law as a tile setter. His last employment before suffering a shoulder injury that left him incapacitated was doing maintenance at Independence County care facilities. He and his sister cared for his parents in their final years when he became incapacitated.
There was never a dull time around him because he had one of the best personalities. He had a passion for caring for the old. He cherished astronomy and using his telescope, Big Bertha, to view the moon, planets, and stars. He enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to music. In addition, he cherished and gathered a variety of watches. He was a fervent prayer warrior who loved the Lord beyond all else. Everyone who was fortunate enough to know him will miss him terribly.
Alyssa Garner, Lauren Crouch, his brother-in-law James Butch Kelley, his sister Karen Kelley, and numerous great nieces and nephews survive John.
His brother, Gene Ned Edward Prince II, nephew, Gene Trey Edward Prince III, and parents, Gene and Francis Prince, all passed away before him.
The arrangements are being handled by Willis Funeral Service.
