On July 29, 2025, Donald Fox, 87, of Charlotte, died in Batesville. Charles and Virgie Fox welcomed him into the world on July 21, 1938, in Morganton, North Carolina. He spent 21 years in the Arkansas Army National Guard with distinction. Before she departed to be with the Lord, Donald was married to his beautiful wife, June Fox, for 58 years. He was a devoted public servant who held positions on the boards of the Charlotte Water Department, the Charlotte Fire Department, and the Cord-Charlotte School Board. For seven years, he was the Independence County Quorum Court’s Justice of the Peace for District 5. He was a Baptist and a member of the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association.
Donald loved to hunt, fish, raise cattle, and rodeo. He loved spending time with his family, and he had a particular affection for Henry, his great-grandson.
His parents, his wife, June Fox, and his two brothers, Arnold and Derryl Fox, passed away before him. The following people survive him: two brothers, Manley and Curtis Fox; one sister, Loretta Dawson; one daughter, Staci Albert (Paul); one son, Wesley Fox; one grandchild, Haley Albert-Tate (Anthony); one great-grandchild, Henry Tate.
Bro. Chuck Crow will preside over the memorial services, which will take place in the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. The funeral home will be open for visits on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Jerrel Lillard, Roy Thomas, Marty Melton, Steve Baxter, Charles Bullington, Steve Hampton, Jerry Pruett, Jay Runyan, Mike Cumnock, Greg Hazelrigs, Tracy Wallis, and Dean Fugett are honorary pallbearers.
For the care Donald received in his last days, his family would especially want to thank the nurses and personnel at Wood-Lawn Heights Nursing Home and Caring Hands Hospice.
