For urgent repairs this afternoon (Wednesday), the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development blocked the northbound lane of U.S. 167 over Interstate 20 in Ruston.
According to the DOTD, the North Vienna Street flyover will only have one lane while the bridge deck is repaired.
For the protection of drivers and construction workers, the right lane of westbound I-20 beneath the overpass is also blocked.
When biking, walking, or driving close to an active construction zone, locals should use caution.
When every lane reopens, DOTD will send you a notification.
The Interstate component of this closure is just being worked on by staff and is probably only going to last until Thursday, according to John Freeman, the director of public works for the City of Ruston. Through the weekend, the Vienna Street lane closure is probably going to stay in effect.
