Ruston Elementary is being led by a new lion.

After being appointed principal at RES, Stephanie Griffin, a former coordinating teacher at Choudrant Elementary, stated that she is already getting ready for the next school year.

Filling our workforce was the first thing I wanted to do, Griffin stated. You can start working on making the most strategic use of those parts once you have them all in place. My initial task was to choose skilled educators to the school who would best support our pupils. Having a nearly full staff now allows me to focus on strategically utilizing them for our students.

Griffin stated that she wanted to develop leaders among her employees as well as the RES students.

“You start with students,” she remarked, adding that her objective has always been to develop leaders, both within and outside of the classroom. I’ve been looking forward to having an influence on the entire school. In a sense, I have been doing that at Choudrant, but I have always wanted to be able to develop leadership in a school.

Griffin began her teaching career at Simsboro, where she spent 14 years teaching science before switching to English language arts. She subsequently relocated to Choudrant, where she worked for eight years as the coordinating teacher. According to Lincoln Parish School Board Superintendent Ricky Durrett, she has performed admirably in every role.

According to Durrett, she will make an excellent principle for us. During Mandy Brown’s tenure as principal, Ruston Elementary has somewhat improved; nevertheless, Stephanie’s assumption of the position will maintain that upward trajectory. I’m hoping for some positive things there.

Mandy Brown, a former principal who has been with RES since 2019, is joining I.A. Lewis as an assistant principle.

Griffin stated that she is most excited to learn more about the instructors and students at RES.

Ruston Elementary is already a terrific school, and I want to keep making it even better since they’re already headed in that direction,” Griffin stated. I understand that they are already a well-known, excellent school, and I get to be a part of it today.
