A Louisiana State Police trooper arrested a Dubach man for his second DWI after he was stopped for running a red light.
Timmy Glenn Lary, 53, was stopped by Ruston Police on May 23 at about 7:00 p.m. after he allegedly failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of West California Ave. and Homer Street.
The RPD officer noticed Lary exhibited signs of intoxication, including unsteadiness, incoherent speech, and an odor of alcohol on his breath. Lary reportedly admitted to consuming alcohol prior to operating the vehicle. A half-empty bottle of whiskey was found on the vehicle’s backseat.
A state trooper arrived on the scene and administered field sobriety tests. Lary was taken to the Lincoln Paris Detention Center where the trooper attempted to administer a breath test. Lary refused to provide a breath sample and requested a blood draw.
Lary was taken to the North Louisiana Medical Center where a blood sample was obtained. He was then returned to the detention center where he was booked for second offense DWI, running a red light, and open container.
